$15,000 international students' tuition fee increase in U of Winnipeg

Hi everybody,
The University  of Winnipeg is voting today to increase international students’ tuition fees to $15,000 per year!  This is by far the BIGGEST FEE INCREASE IN CANADIAN HISTORY.  This $8000 increase must be stopped before the University of Manitoba tries the same thing.  The U of W Board of Regents are trying to push it through as fast as possible and we’ve only just heard about it.  They will be meeting TODAY at 3:30 to vote on it.
Please come out and help stop this!  Students will be gathering from 2:30 to 3:00 in the UWSA offices which are in the basement of the Bulman Centre at the U of W and then we will all be going to the Board of Regents meeting.
Please forward this email to as many people as you can.  If you need more info, please call my cell at 997-4711.  We are trying to spread the word across the U of M, so if you can come out today to help, that would be awesome.  We’ll be painting banners and making placards from 10-2 in the UMSU Council Chambers in 176 Helen Glass.
Don’t forget that tomorrow is when the U of M is passing its budget, which includes fee increases for U of M students.  We’ll be meeting at 2:30 in the UMSU Council Chambers tomorrow and going to the Board of Governors meeting for 3:00pm.

I also heard about this today,
my friend actually went to the meeting and gave me the information,
he said the new students for 2008 will pay about double fees as the students who registed before 2007 for fall term do,
that means only the first year new students need to pay as much as $10000 per year
and this will happen not only in UW, UM and BU too,
but we don\'t know exactly when they are going to do this......
