Important Information for Chinese Passport Applicants:  If you are planning to apply for a new Chinese passport this summer, you may be able to save yourself a trip to Toronto.  For one day only (Saturday, August 11, 2007), a representative from the Chinese consulate in Toronto will be in Winnipeg to accept applications for Chinese passports.  If you plan to drop off your Chinese passport application on August 11, make sure that your application is filled out completely and that you have included all required documentation.  All applicants must include a pre-paid Xpresspost or registered mail envelope for the return of their documents from Toronto.  Payment for the passport may be made by money order, certified cheque, or cash.  For applications forms and a list of the documents required with your application, visit the web site for the Chinese consulate in Toronto at: http://toronto.chineseconsulate.org.  Chinese passport applications may be submitted on Saturday, August 11, 2007 from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon and from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at 435 Cumberland Avenue.
